Department/Position Description: The Computer Science Teacher is responsible for engaging students in rigorous, standards-aligned lessons for courses like AP Cybersecurity: Networking, Computing Foundations, and/or AP Computer Science Principles. The Teacher should be willing and eager to collaborate with other teachers, department chairs, and administration to innovate these courses, providing immersive, real-world experiences and challenges to students. The Teacher should be comfortable delivering content via modularized learning management systems like Code.org and AP Classroom but should also be motivated to create unique, student-centered activities and projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Math, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

• Valid Indiana teaching license in Computer Science, Business, or Math

• Willing to pursue professional development if licensure is not in Computer Science

• Strong background in Information Technology or Networking preferred

• Prior experience with AP Career Kickstart Pilot or willing to attend College Board training this summer

• Prior teaching experience preferred

• Experience facilitating Project-Based Learning preferred

• Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

• Monday through Friday and normal school hours during the school year

• Limited travel to and from district professional development meetings
