Responsibilities

  •  Play a pivotal role in shaping the futures of students interested in pursuing careers in the medical field.

  •  Lead the implementation of the Health Science CTE Pathway, ensuring alignment with state and national standards.

  •  Develop and deliver engaging curriculum, guide students through practical experiences, and prepare them for success in post-secondary education and healthcare careers.

  •  Develop and deliver innovative lesson plans that cover a variety of health science topics, including anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and healthcare careers.

  •  Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, simulations, laboratory experiments, and guest speakers from the medical field.

  •  Integrate project-based learning opportunities that allow students to apply their knowledge and develop essential skills.

  •  Facilitate student participation in industry certifications, job shadowing programs, and internships.

  •  Provide individualized support, mentoring, and college and career counseling to students pursuing healthcare careers.

  •  Collaborate with other teachers, counselors, and healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Candidate must have appropriate Indiana teaching license or be eligible for a Workplace

    Specialist license based on 3+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry.

2. Candidate must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed and in good

    standing in the State of Indiana.

3. Candidate must have proven reliability, good organization skills, and ability to work well with students, parents and staff.

4. Candidate must possess an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.

5. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years verifiable work experience.

6. Meet the requirements needed to be a dual-credit instructor with post-secondary

    institutions.

1. Have an extensive knowledge about careers in the healthcare industry.

2. Have experience in career education or technical training.

3. Have outstanding communication and organizational skills.

4. Be an advocate for Career &Technical Education and have a desire to help guide students to make viable, realistic career decisions.
